Fully refurbished in Post Office red and converted for present day use. This elegant American telephone has been upgraded for Tone Dialling. It has a 7 number memory, last number re-dial as well as Star & Hash. It will work on any telephone line, PABX and VoIP.
A beautiful and rare vintage telephone which offers a present day service.
This was the first handset telephone produced by Western Electric, USA. It followed the iconic candlestick telephone which had been in use for over 30 years. Its rarity is due to production lasting only 3 years from 1927 to 1930. It has an A1 round metal base and a bakelite E1 handset, much sought after in the USA.
The dial is rather special, known as a number 2, it was previously used on the candlestick telephones. It has a “clickety clack” sound when dialling which really highlights the experience of an old rotary dial.
The Bell Set is a GPO 59A wall mounting having a standard magneto bell at REN 1. It has a plastic cover which has been factory coated in red to match the telephone.
The telephone is connected to the Bell Set with 10 feet of cloth covered cord. The Bell set has a further 10 feet of cloth cord terminated in a standard BT plug. This would allow for adequate positioning in most cases. The handset cord is of finest quality, plaited 3 feet long, made in the UK and finished in Egyption cotton.
The telephone is fully compliant with modern telephony practice and comes with a full one year guarantee. Lifetime support is also offered should a defect occur at a later date.
