Refurbished and in full working order, this is a good example of the ATM Strowgerphone.  Complete with a restored walnut Bell Set no 1A, fitted with a network adaptor for correct performance.

The Strowgerphone was introduced in 1933 by ATM of Liverpool. Similar in design to the earlier American Monophone by AT. It was widely used on the Hull Telephone exchange as well as on private telephone systems in the UK. It has an ATM 24C dial and the ATM equivalent of the GPO handset 164. Variants of the Strowgerphone were employed by the Republic of Ireland P&T, in the USA and in some European countries.

This example is a worthy collectors piece in lovely condition with no chips, scratches or damage apart from a minor hairline near the cable entry, only seen at close scrutiny.  The walnut bellset has been carefully refurbished with a French polished surface. The telephone performs well with clear speech both ways and has a good loud ring.
