Introduced in 1937 and in use up until the late 1950’s, this is the highly collectable ‘Galion Telephone’. This elegant and compact desk telephone in black Bakelite has an integral bell set providing a loud & clear traditional ring. The overall condition is excellent with virtually no signs of use. Dialling out is velvet smooth with its original Automatic Electric dial. Fully compliant with modern telephony standards, the Galion has clear speech in both directions.
Manufactured by North Electric of Galion, Ohio, one of the smaller telephone makers in the USA. The Galion ‘phone became known as “Lucy’s big brother” alongside its famous peer the “Lucy ‘phone” which was widely used at the time. The overall design of this beautiful Bakelite telephone is accented by its long smooth lines. Its Art Deco looks combined with its time proven reliability has made this vintage ‘phone a favourite among telephone collectors worldwide.
The Galion Telephone has been thoroughly sanitised, cleaned & polished ready to plug in and used with confidence. It has been fully inspected by a qualified telephone engineer to ensure compatibility with current standards. The dial timing and performance has been calibrated with professional test equipment. The 2.3 metre long brown cloth cord is fitted with a standard BT connector ready to plug in and go.
